Circle Singers Member Profile

Circle Singers presents its Member Profile. Here periodically we will present some inside "scoop" on the life and times of one of our members. We hope to accomplish two things: First, to give a more human picture of the chorus by showing some of the neat people who participate; Second, to improve personal awareness within the group since we come from such disparate areas of greater Cincinnati.

Donna Mayer

Donna Mayer, Soprano
June, 2011

If you look at soprano section of the Circle Singers, you will likely see a smiling lady with golden hair confidently singing and clearly enjoyng herself. As a Circle Singer, Donna Mayer is often called upon to perform solo or as a member of a duet. During those times her rich strong soprano voice fills the room wth sweet sounds. In addition to being one of the most talented and qualified members of the Circle Singers, Donna has also honored the group by being an active participant for over 12 years.

Donna and her husband Bob have been married for 36 years. They are the proud parents and grandparents of 3 childeren and 3 grandchildren.

Donna is Cincinnati born and a graduate of Mother Of Mercy High School. Her work experience includes secretarial duties for Western Southern Life and preschool teaching at Sharonville United Methodist Church Nursery school and Kindergarden. She also assumed a leadership role within the Circle Singers as Co-President for 3 years.

In her spare time Donna enjoys traveling throughout the United States, sewing, painting and of course, music and singing. In her early years, Donna sang in her high school choir. She looks back with pleasant memories of many High School Christmas Concerts. Later in life, as an adult she enjoyed taking piano lessons. Now, focusing on singing, she shares her superb talents with both the Circle Singers and the Lazurus Choir at St Michaels church.

In looking back at her time with the Circle Singers, Donna noted that singing the national Anthm at the Great American ball park and doing some solo work were clearly among her most memorable experiences. But … in her view, the “best” experiences have been meeting and getting to know all the fun and thoughtful fellow Circle Singer members over the years.
